MATERIALS & CARE

MATERIALS AND CARE

Anna Rossi Jewellery is crafted from a variety of materials, each requiring different care. Wear may vary over time depending on the material, and some pieces may be more suitable for sensitive skin or ears. To help you choose confidently, we’ve outlined the materials and production details below.

Gold Filled

Gold-filled jewellery features a thick layer of gold bonded to a base metal, making it more durable than plated pieces. Our filled designs are water-resistant, though we recommend avoiding perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions for lasting shine. To maintain their shine, polish occasionally

Gold Plated

Gold-plated pieces are crafted from a base metal dipped in gold, offering the same lustre as our filled styles. While they can be worn in water, we recommend avoiding contact with perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and salt or chlorinated water. Each Anna Rossi plated piece is finished with an E-coating for added longevity and tarnish resistance

Rhodium Silver

Rhodium plating is a plating process used in jewellery that consists of electroplating a base metal with rhodium to maintain or restore the jewellery and create a gunmetal appearance. A more durable coating for a longer lasting style however, we still recommend keeping away from liquid, perfumes, hairsprays and body lotions.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel jewellery is strong, durable, rust-resistant, and hypoallergenic, making it ideal for everyday wear. Used as the base for many of our plated and filled pieces. Whilst incredibly durable, we recommend minimising exposure to perfumes, hairsprays, body lotions and water (salt, chlorine and fresh) to ensure optimal longevity.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, making it stronger than pure silver. Hypoallergenic and water-resistant, it’s ideal for sensitive skin. For best longevity, avoid contact with perfumes, hairsprays, and lotion

E-Coating

We have E- coating lacquer on our 18k Gold Plated pieces. E-coating is the process of covering an object in a fine layer of lacquer using electric currents. The layer is smooth, even and unnoticeable, helping to protect the jewellery from wear and tear. While e-coating will help extend the lifespan of our pieces, we still encourage you to follow the specific care instructions listed in each description.
